The passionate brand of citizenship found in German Village has moved city government to action and is the most valuable commodity we have. Be a part of the most organized, active campaign for urban renewal in Columbus. Your time and energy can be leveraged to improve the quality of life in German Village. VISITORS' CENTER
Visitors' Center volunteers contribute one 4-hour shift (morning or afternoon) per week answering phones, greeting guests, and providing information. The schedule recognizes vacations and other obligations and provides substitutes on a regular basis. Orientation classes are scheduled throughout the year.
TOUR GUIDE
Tour companies from throughout the country route groups through German Village. Learn to tell the story of the settlement and restoration of the Village. Tour guides report that one of the greatest benefits to participating in this program is the glow of pride they are left with after the ohhs and ahhs of each group! This volunteer opportunity does require you to be available during the day and on weekends.
FRIENDS OF SCHILLER PARK
This group is dedicated to maintaining the most beautiful city park in the state!
CIVIC RELATIONS
Help monitor the decisions that have an impact on your neighborhood. Shape the future of our community as we implement a long-range enhancement plan.
DEAD HEADERS
If you love the Huntington Gardens and have enjoyed chatting with the group that maintains the flowerbeds, you can help by being responsible for a portion of one bed.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION
The Society is dedicated to retaining the character and distinction of the past while creating a thriving and contemporary community in German Village. This committee provides policy recommendations on issues that impact our neighborhood .
NEIGHBORS 4 NEIGHBORS
Our neighborhood watch program requires the active participation of citizens, in partnership with law enforcement to reduce crime and the opportunity for criminal activity in German Village. Volunteers can be involved as a Block watch leader or help with any special projects.
SPECIAL EVENTS
Serve on a planning committee, or help out the day of an event such as Haus und Garten Tour and Oktoberfest.
ADOPT-A-SCHOOL
Support our Adopt-A-School Partner, Stewart Traditional Elementary, with your time, talents, and resources. Volunteers can choose to be involved in the Tutoring Program or to help out with any special projects with the school.
